You’re not alone if you want the warm and cozy feeling of a crackling fire in your home, but not everyone likes the idea of hauling wood in to the room, and cleaning up the mess after use. Gas fireplaces are ideal in these situations because they can still create the cozy and relaxing place we all enjoy. Gas fireplaces create the perfect focal point in any room, and are available in a wide range of prices to suit most budgets. There are two main types of gas fireplaces to choose from: direct vent, and vent-free gas fireplaces.
The direct-vent type of fireplace vents out the back of the appliance through an approved venting chimney pipe. Some gas fireplace inserts can be installed into an existing fireplace.
Vent-free gas fireplaces do not need any venting through a conventional chimney.
There is almost nothing that can give your house such a warm, unique and cozy atmosphere like a wood burning fireplace can.
Although it can be nice to have a real fireplace in the home, it is often impossible or unsuitable. An electric fireplace is the next best option. One of the benefits of owning an electric fireplace is that they can be used in any room without a chimney. A lot of homes and apartments do not have chimneys, so electric fireplaces are a great alternative option.
There is nothing more enjoyable than spending time outdoors with your family and friends. Summertime backyard barbeques and pool parties are the common activity when entertaining in the summer months. Adding an outdoor fireplace to your yard or patio will add to the enjoyment of spending time outside. Outdoor fireplaces can also extend your outdoor season by allowing you to enjoy your yard and patio long into the fall and winter months. Outdoor fireplaces can be as simple as a freestanding fire pit and as elaborate as a full scale outdoor fireplace, so there are many options to choose from.
Gas logs give you a realistic-looking fire without the mess and hassle of a real wood fire. Gas Logs are an excellent heat source during power outages. There are two types of gas logs: vented and vent-free.
Vented logs have a realistic-looking flame that operates with an open chimney flue, or damper. These logs, which simulate a wood-burning fire, are more decorative than they are an efficient heat source because much of the generated heat goes up the chimney.
Vent-free logs operate without a chimney, or damper closed, and they are an efficient heat source because 100% of the heat generated stays in the home.
